Line-drying

Free energy, gentler on clothes.

4 min read

Drying clothes on a line or rack saves energy and is gentle on fabric and elastic.

Tips

  • Shake clothes out and smooth seams before hanging
  • Dry darks inside out and out of direct sun to prevent fading
  • Hang shirts on hangers to reduce ironing
  • Dry sweaters flat so they keep their shape
  • Indoors, use a rack near good airflow

Check the label

A square with a curved line means line dry. A square with a horizontal line means dry flat.
